Jian Huang has more than a decade of experience working in public relations and marketing with government and nonprofits, including Homeboy Industries, LA County Arts Commission, LA Conservation Corps, LACMA, and many other organizations with long names. A graduate from the University of Southern California, Jian managed to receive a B.A. in Art History and Communications without ever going to a USC football game.
Her heroes include such notable literary figures as Woody Allen, George Lopez, and Chris Rock. In her free time, Jian likes to play tennis and write her memoir in coffee shops around town, accompanied by her two-year-old falcon, Buck Owen, who has been trained to steal croissants. She also happens to have won a 2016 PEN Center USA Emerging Voices Fellowship in creative non-fiction.
